Hi all!

I’m in the market for a vintage Seamaster and I found this one online. I’m not very familiar with how to properly identify a vintage watch and I was hoping for some assistance.

As far as I can tell, the serial is 26978298 which returns a year of 1968. It is a cal.564. I’m concerned about a potential redial. The Omega text on the face, particularly the M, seems off. I also can’t find a watch with similar indices.

Any potential help would be much appreciated 😀

Looks to me like a butchered 166.010. It's been redialed poorly, the hands, crystal, and crown replaced with generic parts, and the case has been overpolished and rebrushed terribly. The movement is probably a Frankenstein and is in pretty poor condition. Considering how much corrosion there is, this watch might not even be fit for daily wear.

Definitely pass.

It is indeed a 166.010, at least according to the case back I neglected to include. Thank you guys so much! I figured it was too good to be true.
