    Help: Verify Omega Watch Authenticity

I just bought an Omega Speedmaster (Moonwatch
Professional Chronograph 42 MM, Steel on Steel, 311.30.42.30.01.005) in Chrono24 website from

    Alux Watches, 6757 Sabal Way
    Mason, OH 45040
    Tel.: [+1] 513-652-9988
    Mobile: [+1] 513-652-9988
    https://www.chrono24.com/dealer/aluxtrader/index.htm

He was a trusted seller since 2018 in the website with 26 ratings of 5 stars. 47 watch sold. He also sells on eBay https://www.ebay.com/str/aluxwatches as aluxtrader with 367 stars. I believe he also goes by the username alexthegreat123 in rolex forums and watchuseek forums.

I just got the watched today and pardon me if pic is not that good, no sunlight and it is almost sunset. I'm just wondering if you guys could help me verify and confirm its authenticity and genuinity

Why do you suspect it might not be authentic?

It's my first omega (besides the one from my dad) and I don't know anything about watch. It is my first time to buy an expensive watch and on the grey market and just wondering if you guys could see something strange about it.

Inherited an Omega? Let's see pics! We're the sort that would like that better.

Sorry are you referring to this one?

I went to Omega boutique today, the guy said they don't verify authenticity but he ran the serial number in their database and it checks out but im still not 100%. If I open the watch, would I be able to see the serial number inside? If so, I'll probably go tomorrow to my local watch repair guy and maybe he can open it for me and we can check it.

Why would you not be "100%" if the serial number checks out?
What in particular do you think could be wrong with the watch?
If you want some help we're going to need to know what you need help with...

    Regardless...
I see the manual has some wear, which could be concerning, but considering you went to a boutique and had it verified, I don't see any reason to worry. You have the coffin, pictograms, and warranty + the obnoxious box.

It's a nice piece. Wear it in good health.

Lay the watch on its face with the pushers facing right. The upper left lug has a number on it that begins with 7. The lugs are part of the case that the bracelet attaches to. (Really the springbar but...)

That serial number should match the cards etc. The pic is blurry but I think it does match. It sounds like you bought from a reputable dealer and you actually went to an OB but you still suspect the watch might be fake. Why?

If you can’t shake this feeling maybe returning the watch to the grey market dealer and then buying from an OB will give you the piece of mind you are looking for.

I mean, it is not impossible to duplicate serial number right?

The boutique did not really verify, the salesman just ran the serial number from the card with their database. He didn't even touch the watch, he just looked at it.

I don't reall have any particular problem with the watch. I'm not a watch guy and don't know anything about it but I was just posting all the pictures and maybe some experts here might be able to verify that it is genuine or maybe find something strange about the watch. Sorry I'm just concerned because it is a lot of money and this is just the first time I bought an expensive watch.

    Thanks!

Ah thank you, I see that now and yes, the serial number match the number from the card. Does that mean this watch is real?

A bit of buyer's remorse perhaps.

Dude it’s legit. It has none of the signs that are on a the high quality fakes. No ones ever seen a correct serial ever. There are 2 things that I’m not going to mention that the fakes never get right. Both are correct.

    OB’s never authenticate.

Probably wouldn't hurt to remove the details identifying the original AD.

Thanks guys for the reply. I apologize for being too skeptic. One last question, if I open the watch, would I be able to see the serial number in there? Other than that, I think I'm good now. :)

The serial number would be on the movement inside the watch but you would have to remove the caseback to access the movement.

Serial is on the movement. It needs a special tool to open or you will scratch it.

Honestly the movement has not been faked and if they got the “hologram” and lug etching the movement serial would be correct. The movement would look much different though.

It's a 100% legit modern Speedmaster, no need to open the case IMHO if the watch is winding, keeping reasonably accurate time, and all chrono functions work. Congrats.

It's real. There is no good replica of the Speedy Pro out there.

Wouldn't doing your homework prior to buying be the smart way to go about it rather then buy and then lose sleep thinking that the watch is fake?
You obviously do not know enough about the watch you purchased. And you know very well that even though people here told you it looks OK, it won't be enough for you.
You will probably go and ask 1,700 other people, and when one of them is going to tell you "I don't know, doesn't look right to me" your "Freakout rollercoaster" will start again and you'll be back here asking if we are 100% sure that the watch is authentic because your buddy's uncle's neighbor told you that he thinks the watch does not look authentic to him...

If you do not know what you're buying. And buying from an obvious trusted online source is still not good enough for you, just pay the full pop at the Boutique. The savings are not worth the headache...
