I recently came across an instagram post from a seller in my country about this Omega Seamaster with a crosshair dial. The seller describes it as follows:

  • Swiss automatic movement (self-winding)
  • Original champagne sunburst dial
  • Applied baton hour markers & slim hands
  • Date window at 3 o'clock
  • Original case with gold-capped bezel/case
  • Omega signed crown
  • Acrylic crystal
  • Brown leather strap (aftermarket)

Production Era: Late 1960s - Early 1970s

Condition:
  • Original dial with light patina
  • Case in good vintage condition with minor wear
  • Original gold-capped bezel intact
  • Crown original & intact
  • Strap aftermarket
  • Overall well-preserved vintage piece

I wanted to understand a bit better about the model from the available pictures before I engaged with the seller so that I know what to look out for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, welcome here on Omegaforums!

The dial itself may be original but it was refinished.

The case has mayor wear IMO

The second hand is not correct for the watch

Please enclude the asking price when presenting a potential purchase here on the forum

This Omega model is not rare, you will find a better one, I'm sure 馃槈

Hello! Thank you so much for the reply!

Sorry for not mentioning this in my original post - the asking price is around $990.

I did message the seller for more details regarding the movement - the seller responded saying that the watch caseback cannot be opened to check the movement as it is a 'concealed' caseback, and the way to open up this watch is from the face-side. He also sent over some more videos.

I did have some misgivings regarding the second hand being different, and now with the movement being unconfirmed I will steer clear.

Well, I guess my search continues! 馃槄
Thank you for the insights.

Definitely not an original dial. Not the worst redial but a redial nonetheless. Case very over polished. Definitely a pass, good examples of these references come up often.

If you are going to insist on seeing the movement, you may want to avoid one piece cases. Most sellers can鈥檛 open them.
