Help to identify vintage watch

Hello everyone

I purchased this watch approx 10 years ago. It was an impulse buy on an auction listing on eBay from a business seller.

I have tried on and off over the years to find another one online and only ever managed to find one other image of it on a German site.

I love the design of the face but I am moving home and trying to raise some funds so looking to get a feel for valuation too. I was going to sell to a pawnshop that was offering me £150 but due to it being unusual I am not sure if I would be doing myself a huge disservice by accepting that offer.

Any help appreciated
Thank you

I think £150 is a reasonable offer. The dial is unusual but the crown is incorrect and the case is shot.
You may get £50-70 more on eBay but there’s fees, tyre kickers etc to contend with.

I'd say ref 166.0120 cal 1020... I can see some steel refs with the same dial on the net but not with the gold plated case.

I am not sure if this guy is overpriced, or if the pawnshop is underpriced, but there is this..
Granted yours has some issues and it's also gold plated, but maybe this is something to consider.

It looks even lovelier in the silver!

This one definitely needs some care and attention to the casing. It winds and changes date fine. Not sure if it’s timekeeping is 100% accurate though.

I tried selling this and two other vintage omegas I own to a local specialist but he has never returned my email so went the pawnshop route.

ebay has a discount on selling fees at the moment so going that route for now but have cancelled my listing for this one while I gather more info.

thank you. Nice of you to look and help.

I think there’s a couple of things.
1. that’s a dealer who should be offering a warranty etc. OP is obviously a private seller.
2. Even then the piece is top end.
3. Gold plate is much less desirable than stainless.
4. There are condition issues. See the 11 o’clock lug where the plating has been worn to such an extend the base metal is coming through.

You should get at least £150 on eBay, probably a little more. Make sure you take plenty of pics (try taking them either outside or near a window so the natural light shows the watch at its best). Also, wind it up, set the time and see how it performs over 24 hours.

Very valid points!

If I remember correctly I won the auction for around the £70 mark and I have had it sat in a jewellery box since so happy to move it onto a new home.

Thank you for replying and I hope you have a great weekend!

Typo - should read price is top end

Agreed! I think I was wondering myself why the price differential was so large. 👍
