Hi,

Just looking for some clarification on a watch which has been passed down to me by my great grandfather.

I belive its a variation of the 30T2, I may be wrong.

Any further information would be very much appreciated. I have trawled through Google and only found 1 image of the same watch which has lead to a dead end unfortunately.

I'm aware multiple photos are better, but there are no other markings on the rear of the watch and the only defining features are on the face.

Red star
Pontife hour hand
Roman numerals

Thanks in advance!

The information you need is on the inside of the case back.

Below is a Brazilian advertisement for the Teddington model, which to my knowledge was only sold there.

The general characteristics of the dial loom correct to me, but hopefully there is some Brazilian provenance to the watch.

Brazilian provenance to the watch.

Absolutely no need as these watches have also been sold elsewhere in the world. Canada comes to mind (RCAF), I have one with an EoA which was delivered to South Africa.
The red star and the Teddington-bla-bla was just a marketing-gimmick, this topic has already been discussed ad nauseam

This particular watch is a reference CK 2242, most of the time equipped with an 18J movement 30 SC T2.
Its not even present/mentioned in the Brasilian AD you show...

As @mac_omega says.

Plus, if you take off the caseback you'll see the serial of the movement, and be able to confirm the calibre. I should imagine it was made between '39 and '43, although we can only have a better idea once we see the movement.

Enjoy it! It's a lovely watch 😀
