    Hi everyone at Omegaforum,

I'm New to collecting vintage watches, and recently get in an opportunity to purchase this Constellation. I have not yet gathered sufficient knowledge to decide if it is all original, so I post here to ask for advices from experienced veterans here. Thanks a lot in advance.

    Kevin

What have you been able to find out? Have you googled the reference number?

It looks clean but I'm not at all sure about the "Automatic Chronometer " font
My 14381 is a later dome dial but has heavily 'serifed' font
Is it just the light or are the upper lugs a bit bevelled?
    They should be sharp

That case seems to be in excellent condition, I could well imagine the rest being of equal quality.

I think it looks just fine...

My ref. 14381 for comparison, I think it's just a poor picture.

Hi, thanks all for the inputs. I was ill for the last week so I could not reply to this thread earlier, my apologies.

The Omega Vintage Database is updated with non-usable interface, I can't have much decisions on my own. I think the dial is original and not refinished, either the crown. However, I can't decide on the case if it's fake, it looks likely not much polishing given. I've managed to get a movement shot for this one, please take a look and hope to get your advise.

One more important thing that keep me wary is the watch locate in Vietnam, from a watch trader, and he's asking for 700$.

Thank you again for the help

Based on the responses, you seem to have a winner.

Maybe the hands have been re filled judging from the colour and the fact that the 5 minute markers are missing their lume.

Other than that it looks pretty good and at an asking of $700 very good!

I would buy at that price.

authenticity of case looks fine -why do you doubt it?
    movement looks clean
    medallion is pretty damned good
    correct crown
can't quite read the serial but if it starts with 16XXX then it puts it bang on where it should be
dial has been 'approved' by others here
$700US (£460) seems like a good deal -factor in a service -still cheap
you'll have to take a call about Vietnamese watch traders -or ask others here how to proceed

Thanks so much for all the inputs.
Yes, I noticed the hand would have been re-lumed and the movement looks good and uniform to me. From what I've read from the Internet, China, Vietnam and Thailand is where fakes and frankens are usually originated. And for the price, comparing to all the Connies I've followed on eBay last year, I feel it's a bit too good to be true.

I would likely think crumbled away and tidied up by a WM at some point

Where in VN is it? Once it leaves the country, you will not be able to ship it back.
