Help required to pick up a watch in Manchester, UK

Are any of our members located in or around Prestwich, Manchester M25 2NF and could help pick up a watch and ship it to me?

The UK based seller would not ship to me across the pond citing new eBay policiy (?) - but has shared his/her phone number in case I could arrange a pickup against cash delivery, so there is a bit of risk involved. Would any Samaritan help me out? Any help/ advise welcome, I haven't dealt in this fashion ever before, but I've heard about the OF underground express, so am wondering if I could make it work.

I know, I know, but to the seller's credit he has shared his address and phone, and Google Maps street view show the address to be in a residential neighborhood. Whatsay?

Banks everywhere in Down Under. Need safe deposit boxes to hide all these rare watches....

and also need them (different branches) to do small cheque deposits and cash outs 😉.

Perhaps a risk mitigating factor but doesn’t mean legit 😀 I would definitely require more info than that. Perhaps talk to the guy over phone or whatsapp? Also depends om the price and piece. Is it a typical scamming piece?

If I would ask a fellow member for help to pick up a watch in person I would be making sure it's 100% legit with no risk whatsoever.

If someone goes to see it for you a video call would be the order of the day then you can see and assess the watch a little more 'in person', so to speak. It's a lot to ask for another member to 'feel' at least partially responsible in the transaction.
