I've been recently offered this De Ville, could you please share your thoughts on it?
I quite like the dial, seller claims watch being all original down to the glass, I am a bit dubious about the crown but not sure.

Having owned a similar model before, I think Seamaster de Villes with this dial + case configuration originally came with a different crown? (Something along the lines of this random photo)

I never get tired of looking at the iconic hippocampus on the caseback

 

Not at the moment, seller is going to have the watch open by a watchmaker.

Yes it sounded like your gut is sending you a signal about both crown and seller accuracy

Also I am wondering if that is a 14mm vintage ladies' buckle, looking forward to hearing from more experienced collectors

 

Case seems good condition, crown I think is incorrect, dial also looks to have patninad to a brownish rather than sunbust silver. Personally for me it is a pass. However, depends on how much you like it, and the price.

 

I think I will took the advice some of you gave me and give a pass on this.

The crown is absolutely, definitely, 100% NOT original to the watch.
