Hello everyone,

please excuse my bad english, but I am interested in buying an Omega Constellation Pie Pan and therefore ask for advice:

No. 1
- The Plexiglas has the Omega crown in the glass
- Photos with the red background

No. 2
- 1963
- 167.005
- Caliber 551
- photos with the white background

Which watch is in better condition and why?
The watches cost 1200 - 1400 euro and is that a fair price?
Any other advice?

Thank you and best regards 😀
Stefan

There’s not much to choose between them really, - both are in mediocre condition. No.2 has a slightly better case (due to lack of scratches) and No.1 has a better handset. Both cases have been polished to the same extent. The dials look in reasonable condition but better pics may reveal some imperfections. Some rotor rubbing evident on watch No.2. They are 6 out of 10 in my view. Prices are high, particularly at €1400.

Personally, I would pick Number 1. Everything looks correct. I would want to see movement photos just to make sure.

Number 2 has corrosion on the hands and is too polished for my taste.

€1200-1400 sounds a little high for the condition but not unreasonable. A couple of 168.005 were sold at around $1,500 recently in eBay in a little better condition.

I think that the second watch is a little nicer.

1. It is a no-date Ref. 167.005 which is less common.

2. Looks like the second watch has onyx markers. First watch looks like painted markers. Without serial numbers of the respective movements, we cannot say for sure.

3. Since neither dial has radium or tritium, new hands should be easier to find and will match perfectly if the size is correct.
