Not mine, a friend came across this when clearing out some old possessions of his mums. We are very confident that there is no intrinsic value, but first time seen in over 20 years & started with a shake.
input appreciated

Thanks guys

to be honest I think you’re spot on on that assumption but it might have sentimental value!

I would say it doesn’t really matter

Thanks jeppe888, we are interested more in what it is, than any work that has been done. My friends mother was unlikely to have serviced it let alone redial it, so if redialled it was probably purchased pre-owned. Which is also unlikely.

Thanks

Delcona is a trademark of Helma-Uhrenfabrik, Linde & Co. / Burkhardt & Cie. Registered on September 22, 1932. in Pforzheim. It was used for wall clocks, pocket watches and until the 1960s for men's and women's wristwatches. Swiss movements were built into the wristwatches.

Oh, I ain't so smart Jeeper.

I looked it up online. Don't speak German so stuck the short narrative in an online translator and ... presto I can play a knowledgeable member here on the Forum.

Even better

I was in pub when Geoff brought it in for me!

I had previously spoken about the knowledge on this forum & you have proved me right.

I’ve got to say, if the movement has genuinely not been touched, then WOW! To start so easily after so long is stunning

You're right Jeeper. I'm intrigued by ratty ol' watches that still start and run. It's like they still have life in them and need care and feeding. That's why I have a menagerie of ol' ratty watches.
