Will get my extract Museum confirmed that case and sn matches, they really have a "hole" in some serial number ranges. They are working on making more serials available. My guess is, they start to digitalize the old books. Nico
It's been a while. Today my Ed White came back to me. The watch go a new dial, matching hands and bracelet. I really dig the ghost bezel, reminds me of the "Army Twins"
Out in the open. The price was higher as the price of the watch itself . Markers were washed out, so I send it to Adam for relume. I am just not sure If i am satisfied with that work
This is very interesting. I wish neither to condone nor condemn this work, but I do know from conversations with @Spacefruit that the lume on 105002s and I think 105003s can be 'wobbly' in a way that doesn't appear on other references. I have seen it close up on one or two of his fully original watches. Perhaps worth investigating? There might be an argument for saying that this kind of finish is entirely appropriate for this dial.
I found this early 003 on his page with the following quote: "Note also the “wobbly lume”. This original feature of 105.003’s is quite common and often leads people to think the dial has been relumed. It is an original feature only seen in this reference, although not an attractive one."
So my take is... either way you go, you can’t go wrong. All down to your personal preference. FWIW, I think your watch looks terrific.
big improvement, no? I'd give it a little time. Wear for a while and see how you like it. If it continues to bug you, start the hunt for an original one, and be prepared to drop ~$4K on it.
What do you mean with original one? Do you see anything else wrong...except for the lume Btw, this one wasnt cheap either...
