Good day,

I am wondering if anyone here has used https://farfo.com to buy a watch?

Looking at a rolex from this seller and just wanted to know if anyone has feedback or experience with them.

Cheers and thanks in advance!

He has been around forever, but I've never really heard much about him, good or bad. That said, you might want to focus more on the watch, so if you post some photos and info, we may be able to guide you. However, the vintage Omega watch sub-forum is the wrong place for a question about a Rolex. Try the Rolex sub-forum.

Well, that dial looks super clean. Maybe too clean, not sure 馃榾
Hour and minute hand usually has a black onyx insert, this one has lume, so perhaps not correct? I have seen these on Seamaster, but this is De Ville. Same dial though.

I know John at Farfo - I trust him. Always do your due diligence on a specific watch, though (applies to all sellers).

I鈥檓 no help with the chrono you posted, though I鈥檇 suggest posting higher resolution photos.

thanks for the inputs. attached are somewhat better resolution pics . is it possible that the seamaster pictured here is 18k as the De Ville is only gold filled/plated?

It doesn't look like there's a hallmark on any of the lugs

If we're talking about the OP watch, I'm pretty sure it's gold-filled or plated.

i had the De Ville chrono in high school (51 years ago) and i remember it was gold filled as the 18K was way too expensive. thanks to everyone for the advice. cheers

Looks like 145.018 with cal 861, some are Seamaster some say Deville. Some have lume some do not. Here鈥檚 my SS Seamaster with similar serial number 1968 I believe.
OP movement appears to have the plastic Delfin Chrono brake part which I think was a later change to 861 in the 70鈥檚 so I wonder if this was replaced at service? Worth asking about to seller perhaps. These are beautiful 35 mm watches What is asking price?

I don鈥檛 think Omega made 18k version of this model.

yes i think the brake part you mentioned was changed at service. another thing i noticed is that some dials have the "T" on both sides of Swiss Made and some don't.

Models with onyx inserts do not have lume.
My blue one says hello. Ts.

i just noticed that the de ville on the fratello site has very interesting subdials, the 60 second in red and the hours in green. anyone know if it is original or modded?

i also had a Tissot Sea Star in the mid 70's and the case and dial were almost identical, kind of like rolex and tudor being sister companies. i guess back then there weren't many case and dial supppliers so a lot of brands looked similar (chronographs) except for the logos
