Hi everyone,

I'm evaluating a DON bezel to buy (picture below). Of course is an expensive item. I'd like to know if it looks correct for you.

Thx in advance

is it normal that insert sticks out from the metal bezel (from the back)?

To be honest I mainly checked the front side for the common mistakes and couldn't find one.

As said above wait for more input!

you can compare with my pictures here 😀

Looks genuine to me, nice, except for the scratched edge in the upper left corner.
The black part sticking out depends on what angle you take photo from.

thanks for the answer. I don't think is the angle. If you see the pict 2 (back side) the insert sticks out all around. Yours (in the link) looks different from the back

(EDIT: I now believe I was wrong to call this good, and changed my mind and I call this bezel a repro.)

I have compared this bezel to those in my collection that includes numerous fakes.

I can see several characteristics in the OP bezel that are present in the genuine bezels, that are not present in the counterfeits that I own.

The OP bezel is unusually fine - the carrying ring is without the often seen strikes or dents. While this does fit with the condition of the insert, I can see why it raises suspicion.

My conclusion is that the OP bezel is an Omega original bezel.

I am not concerned by the reverse views of the insert.

It looks like the metal ring is smaller. I used a Kapka's image (B) as comparison:

When I look at the distances between numbers and dots and the thikness of the font itself, I have strong doubts this one is authentic.
150, 160 blend together with the dot, position of the dot over 170 is off left overthe "7", distance beween "60" and dot below is to narrow, generall dots and numbers are too narrow and font is too thick.
Just to mention whatt I can see ad hoc compared to 3 DONs I justed pulled out to compare.

Be careful. And I personally wouldn't offer a DON in this condition for 1700. If I had no idea what I'm offering, then maybe for 300, but having an idea and 1700...well.

I urge you, Go check thoroughly against authentic DON-Bezels first and then against repros.

You are not wrong - in all your observations.

I am going to review again.

I would say that if this OP bezel is fake, then its a new one on me - which I am expecting every day!

I am dead sure it's not authentic, subtle differences that turn into monsters as soon as you look closer.

Oh dear...I was wrong.

The Op bezel is I think a counterfeit, and I would not buy it as real.

I am not going to say what it is, but I compared a new area that up to now I wasnt looking at.
