Probably South American, certainly NOT and Omega case.

These typically have considerably less gold than a Swiss made case.

It tests as 18k Gold? What is GAR? On what grounds do you say South American and that it is not an Omega Case?

The lack of the correct OMEGA markings is fairly conclusive. Plenty of us have seen these SA cases and this one fits the pattern to a tee. It will test as 18k, but often these are thick layers of gold built up around a ring, so the actual gold content is less than half of a true solid 18k case made in Switzerland.

    Don't delete posts.

Try just posting a thank you and leaving first post for others to see.

Simply looking for conclusive answers which wasn't given, but thank you for your effort. And by the way the only reason I rejected your answers were that I know that the watch has never left Italy. Knowledge insufficient, but I did enjoy the argumentative guessing. Gave me the same info as google though, but I must say I do enjoy being made fun of due to the lack of experience on this forum, very welcoming. Good-day Gentlemen.

So -"Probably embarrassed this fabulous watch isn't that fabulous. ;)" is not making fun?

I sir, is not an ass, but I was made one for sure due to lack of experience with forums. Thanks.

Perhaps some of our less polite member made you feel uncomfortable, for that I'll apologize on behalf of the moderation team. However, we highly discourage editing of a post like this once you receive your answer, although we won't stop you.

The reason is that someone else might need information regarding a similar watch someday. Unfortunately, the post now rendered virtually useless because you've chosen to delete the pictures.

Now that you've receive the benefits of the collective knowledge here (whether you like the answer or not), you have deprived the next newbie of the benefit of your experience.

We consider this action rather rude.

I wonder - this is a general question as well as a directed one towards djofi - what was the intention of removing your original post and pictures?

Forums are intended for communication and knowledge sharing. The knowledgable folks on this forum are much more inclined to answer public posts than private ones because it increases the collective knowledge of everybody who takes a look.

Gentlemen, this always happens - so why even bother with the drive by? He's a schmuck who doesn't agree with the answers he got from experienced collectors who have each seen dozens of aftermarket-cased watches (and not just Omega either). Just say "buh-BYE!" and let him believe whatever he wants to and take his substandard watch home in a fit of pique.

See ya djofi! Don't let the doorknob hit you in the ass on the way out.
