Hello guys,

I'm asking help on behalf of a friend, because I thought I could help him, but it turns out that I have 0 knowledge on these Rolex stuffs 馃槦
So, basically he's looking for a gold 6263 and he's pinned it down to these two (he lives in Germany and will be able to view both in person) BUT: I know there are tritium service dials made for these and after an hour of online research I cannot find a reliable resource that highlights the differences.

Does anyone know these dials are kosher ? A mistake at these levels can be quite costly 馃榿
I'm asking because I started this thread (https://omegaforums.net/threads/rolex-5512-gilt-opinions-please.70594/) on his behalf for a 5512 GILT that turned out to be great, and he's been enjoying it since https://www.instagram.com/p/BhxDN6OHRxN/?hl=fr&taken-by=mailollo
@Nobel Prize (special thanks to Sergio)

Here is watch n1, without a bracelet: https://www.chrono24.fr/rolex/rolex...full-set-aus-privater-sammlung--id7804989.htm

And watch n2, with a bracelet: https://www.chrono24.fr/rolex/dayto...box-certificate-very-rare-1975--id8016491.htm

Thank you very much in advance guys!

No idea on these, but if I was going to spend 90,000 euros on a single watch, (or anything), i鈥檇 want to do the research myself

And I Certainly wouldnt ask a friend and an public forum to do it!!!!

Bizarre

Do not like the dial on watch n1. Does not look correct, not even for a service dial.
Hard to say on watch n2 without better pictures or seeing it in person.

Thank you. He'll check it out in person but it's a long drive and if the watch is bad there's no need to.

I would think your comment is pretty bizarre.
He's doing the research, and I'm doing some as well, but I don't see anything wrong in asking experts in parallel. Missing a detail on a watch like this could be really bad.

My comment was made on your first sentence above

by your own admission you stated that you know diddly squat on Rolexes

And everyone knows that its steel daytonas which are the real investment vehicle at the moment, not 14k gold ones

I don't know much about gold Daytonas, that's why I posted this here.
I really hope he will get your approval: he has 2 SS 6263, a tropical SS 6262 and a couple of exotic 6238s. He wants a gold one now, but isn't sure about the dials. The investment aspect is not relevant.

I still don't understand the point of your interventions. Have a nice Sunday though

What is an exotic 6238?
These things. Actually you're right, they're not exotic. Just rare and fu****ng expensive 馃榿

watch n1 is Fake. this is a poorly made fake dial. there are much much higher quality fakes out there. be careful.

look at the subdials. very telling. print is very poor and uneven. the 6 o'clock subdial's "3" isnt even fully printed on the register. you think Rolex would ever let a dial leave the factory like that? No. The coronet is also all wrong. Ive never seen a Rolex coronet like that. the bezel is fake as well. hands look fake also but difficult to tell from just pictures.

the second one looks better but the forgers have gotten so good and im not knowledgable enough on these to say definitively. i can say definitively that the 1st watch is fake. 馃榾

the dial below is fake. there are very very high quality fake vintage Daytonas out there. mostly from Vietnam. theyll even refinish (bevels and all) the parts in a V72 to make it look like a Rolex movement and convert it so it has the same beat rate as a 726 or 727. slap real bezels, pushers, hands, crowns, and in some cases real dials, on a fake case with a fake (but real V72) movement. all for ~$5-10k and sell it to some sucker for $50k+.
