1200 is a bit high, given that the dial and hands clearly show signs of degradation due to aging, and that there is an inscription. More of a dealer price, given the condition, and especially given that it is 14k rather than 18k gold.

Having said all of that, I like the inscription. It is elegant, very well executed, and adds to the provenance.

The scrap gold value for this watch is already about $500, plus a few hundreds more for the rest. You got about 5x more for what you paid.

Btw, it's rather not pink, but red gold. Pink would look more like the colour of the movement.

"Rose" gold is the more common term in English.

Nice rose gold watches sell for a small premium in today's market over yellow gold, all other things being equal.

    Tomorrow, it might be different.

Is rose for red or pink? There're red gold and pink gold Omegas that look different from each other. No idea of price difference between them though.

Yours is red gold like I said earlier. It's redder than yellow, but has no pink shade like pink gold. I have the same watch and haven't seen pink gold for this reference yet, but seen pink gold on other watches .

Omega does not use the term "rose" but red or pink per EN 28654 and ISO 8654. EN/ISO standards define the colours of gold by "A three-dimensional colour space represented by the chromaticity co-ordinates x and y and reflectance Q, in accordance with CIE Publication No. 15."

    Colours are:

    0N - green yellow
    1N - pale yellow
    2N - light yellow
    3N - yellow
    4N - pink
    5N - red

Omega also uses another code for white - WE. That is not part of the standards listed above.

    Cheers, Al
