Help: OF member with vintage Rolex, index bezel installed to Japan time

I recently (last few months) saw someone post about a vintage Rolex datejust with an index bezel installed “incorrectly”, and a story about how the original owner worked with Japan a lot, and having the bezel intentionally applied “incorrectly” in order to show the time in Japan (the bezel’s double index positioned to display 12 in Japan).

I surely have the story a bit off, but the above was the thrust of it. I *think* the post came up in the context of a discussion about the turn-o-graph? Or maybe just different datejust bezels? Or?

Does this ring a bell for anyone else?
