Help needed with a case/calibre

Hello all,

I have looking to get a model that I am quite hesitant on the history behind it.

The watch has a gold colour honeycomb and has a 266 calibre dated to 1954. What I am finding intriguing is that the case of the watch has a serial number and no reference - I would say it is a 16378543 or it could be a "2" instead of the 1.
Does this exist and it is correct or is it a Frankenstein?
Also, the movements fits the case impeccably, no issues whatsoever.
