Hi All, I am trying to sell this watch for my Dad but as its "apparently" quite rare in 18k yellow gold so I am struggling! can anyone advise or help. I am in the UK. I only have the recent service card. It is 18K yellow gold although it hard to see that in these pics.
That's a lot of gold in there !!!! While I believe it is uncommon, this Bond type gold Seamaster is not limited edition. So I am not sure it is very rare and highly sought after.
Here's the problem: that's a tool watch, and tools are supposed to be made of steel. Anyone willing to spend the kind of money that would fetch is going to want a gold dress watch. Anyone who wants a dive watch is going to want it in stainless so they can actually use it without fear of scratching it, or it looking too ostentatious. Sadly, you're trying to sell a watch that appeals to a VERY limited market.
Here is the original advert for that watch... It is actually quite rare indeed, some came with a solid gold bezel insert too! Also Omega has this on their site in the Vintage search. But it shows the white dial http://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/vintage-watches-database?ref=15370 International Collection : 1994-1998 Swiss retail price (1994) : CHF 19'250.- Also available in 18K gold on 18K gold with blue dial and aluminium bezel (BU 368.1503 or PIC 2133.80.00, CHF 19'250.-), steel/gold on steel/gold (DA 368.1503 or PIC 2332, CHF 3'200.-), steel/gold on steel (DF 368.1503 or PIC 2432, CHF 2'500.-), steel on steel with steel bezel (ST 368.1503 or PIC 2532, CHF 1'900.-), steel on steel with aluminium bezel (SU 368.1503 or PIC 2531, CHF 1'900.-), tianium/gold on titanium/gold (TB 368.1503 or PIC 2231) or titanium/gold on titanium (TI 368.1503 or PIC 2234).
You can post it for sale here if you can rustle up another 198 posts... Otherwise be prepared for possible buyers to PM you and require a lot of information on the watch and your ability to prove you have it in your possession
Take out the movement and crystal and sell them. Then melt the case and bracelet. I'm only half kidding!
This is an interesting watch... Ok, it lacks the "tool" part (I don't even want to image how it will look if one would use it as a true diver), but for a "pimp watch" I guess it does its job quite nicely. I would like to see a wrist shot of it in natural light
I saw 2 closest sibling of your watch offered at USD 7400 and USD 9016 WITHOUT gold bracelet at Chrono24. Mind you Chrono24 price tend to be at least 20% higher than market clearance price. However you could get the idea of price range of your watch: Estimated value price = Chrono24 price range for head only - Chrono24 dealer premium + Melt value of bracelet Start from there, you can offer your watch in FS section here (with permission of moderator) which will be captured by Watchrecon for wider audience. Another way is put on ebay with reserve. (with this type of watch which has limited market no reserve auction will work against seller). Mind you cost to sell at eBay could be as high as ~10% of your watch value with cap at USD 750 now.
Made me think of this one: http://www.chrono24.com/ca/omega/sp...ils&urlSubpath=/search/index.htm&watchTypes=U I visit that page whenever I need to remind myself gold doesn't look good on me
I have just fallen over this thread again so thought I would reply as when we were struggling to find a way to sell it my Dad decided to just keep it. But we are now back looking to sell. Which is how when searching I saw my thread again only with a lot more comments, do thanks everyone. Just seen one on watches.Co.UK so will try that as a starter this time.
