    Dear OF friends

This can look stupid but I was trying to find more info...

Bought a pair of NOS pushers for the 105.012, but my watchmaker said that the ones that are installed are screw and not press ones

Can you illuminate please, something wrong with my 105.012?

    Attached the photos

    Thank you all

    Regards

    Hello

There are two parts. The fixed part which is fluted. You need the special tool to screw them to the case. The pusher itself is indeed screewed but the screw goes inside the case.

    Yeah...not really...

The 105012 came with either screwed in or press fitted pushers - referring to the pusher tube where it enters the case.

Press fitted are 086ST0089, and the threaded version is 086ST0007.

    Cheers, Al

Thanks Archer. Can you tell me why the pusher holder is fluted if not for being screwed in?

Obviously to keep the pusher cap from rotating. And to answer the next follow-up question, this is to help prevent the cap from coming unscrewed and getting lost.

    Hi Al

So these ones that I bought are not possible to install if there is some screwed right? I have to look for some screwed instead of pressed?

    Regards

You can probably jam the press fit ones into the threaded holes if you want to, but best would be to get the right pushers for the case.

If they don't fit, get a bigger hammer! ;)

You could always buy a different case to fit the pushers.::rimshot::

I believe that the CB cases had press for pushers and the HF screw in pushers.

Incorrect, all 105.012 use press fit pushers except a few of the last ones where the case transitioned to the 145.012. As Al says the omega part number for these few screw fit pusher 105.012 cases is 0007 however these have the same dimensions as the later 145.012 pushers and consequently look ‘wrong’ to collectors.

So do we know of these late production 105.012 with correct screw in "wide & short" pushers?
In other words have we seen vintage "wide & short" screw in pushers?

    Hi all

Thank you for your comments but I’m now more confused, my 105.012 is a full set sold to me by the person that bought it... could Omega change to screws ones in a service?

    Thank you all again

No I don’t think wide and short pushers exist in screw-in form, although I’d love to be proved wrong. It seems likely Omega was transitioning to the screw in pusher with the longer head.

    http://speedmaster101.com/2017/01/

What i don´t see is why are service ones... the originals how are suppose to be? ::facepalm2::

    Cheers

Interesting! The plot thickens. I have never see those before, could they be non omega or adapted?

    Very interesting, Bruno.
This could indicate that screw in cases are factory correct.
As to why the pushers in your link are service - the stem between the threaded part and the cap is slimmer (compare to the ones you have and you´ll see).
