Help me identify my 1916 Omega pocket watch

I recently got a new to me Omega pocket watch. Case serial number is 5817917, and the movement has serial number 5064877. Lookups of the serial numbers appear to indicate 1916 as the year of manufacture. It winds up relatively effortlessly, and runs with the soft tick-tock of a mechanical movement.

The outer case has some dings and scratches, but it appears to my (very much untrained) eye to be in decent condition overall - particularly for a watch that is almost 110 years old.

The seller claims the red number 12 was to commemorate those killed during World War 1 - can anyone confirm or deny this? To me, it seems more like something invented after the fact than what they'd have done at the time - particularly because 1916 is more or less in the middle of WW1.

I know literally nothing else about this watch, and any additional information would be very welcome indeed.

It's a nice old watch, appears to be a caliber 19''' with a vitreous enamel dial, "Paris" style Arabic numerals and gold "Louis XV" hands.

Omega had been making red 12 dials in pocket watches and wristwatches as early as 1913, so the seller story is fluffy bullshit.
