Can somebody help me identify the ref. for this watch so i can insure it?
I know it is a Constellation Pie Pan but i cant find this exact one.
From what google is showing me it looks like a 60s possibly?
Dial only has "Automatic Chronometer" and no date.
Case, markers and clasp are all gold and the dial is silver.

Thanks for attaching the pics, not sure why it didnt work when i put it in. I looked up 167.005 and i cant find any with only two lines of text (doesnt say master certified) and has the arabic 3, 6, 9, 12. Hence why im perplexed. Received it as a gift so dont have any background on it.

Or rather 14900 given the missing “Officially Certified” text.

If you're going to insure it, you should have it opened to confirm the reference. You'll also need the serial number, more than likely.
Hodinkee didn't ask for serial and i just put in the reference. First time insuring watches so not sure what they ask during claims though. Anyone have experience?

I do not understand for what you make insurance of the watch..for stolen watch? broken watch? Lost watch? It seems that in our days you can insure anything..😀

Instead of going under my homeowners/renters insurance I insured them separately. Covers theft, if you break it or lose it, if your house goes on fire, or floods, etc. Same as insuring expensive jewelry like an engagement ring. Doesn't quite make sense if a collection is a thousand or two but if you have a large or expensive collection i think its smart. Like all insurance it's the incase I need it mentality, but i'd rather have it and pay the 10 bucks a month than not have it and wish i had it one day.

The good thing - at first glance - is that you don’t need a valuation report. If hodinkee values them as they value their own watches for sale we may have a winning concept 😁

$10 a month sounds great. I'm in! 😁

process was super easy, just needed a picture, reference number, year, what you want to insure it for and then they quote you. And as i mentioned it was like 10 bucks a month for my collection.

You set your own value with Hodinkee insurance. But there’s a manual review process on their end so presumably that’s how they flag issues.

Yeah, $10 monthly is chicken feed. Assuming about 2% annually, this implies a collection with an approximate value of $6k if my numbers are correct. And if it makes you feel secure, it's not a lot to pay.

But for a higher value collection, the premiums start to become real money at some point. Would you be willing to pay $100 monthly for a $60k collection? $1000 monthly for a $600k collection?

Well the sting of those prices are somewhat lessened as Hodinkee pays out losses with leather-bound travel alarm clocks. The bigger the loss the more clocks they send.
