Hi Guys. I’m wondering what model this OMEGA is. I really like the dial and the tan hour markers. I know it’s a redial but what keywords should I look for when looking online for this? Any help?
The reference number is 136.041. You can search the RN and get an idea of how original examples should look.
That's a made up fantasy dial, Omega never offered such a thing on this reference. It's a faux military dial and the hands don't belong to the reference either.
if you are OK with no-date, go check out the earlier modern Railmasters! https://watchbase.com/omega/railmaster/2503-52-00 (image from watchbase.com)
There used to be a Indian dealer on chrono who sold these kind of dials often. I call them Mombay watches because he was based in Mombay. I'm not sure he's still there. I think his business called wristmen watches.
Thanks I looked up the model number and couldn’t find anything close to that dial. That’s why I came here.
Wow, what a cool looking watch! Despite it being a fully made up piece I’d have happily paid $500. Good look finding another one though.
Other than a vintage Railmaster or Ranchero, the way to get to get that dial look in a legitimate piece is the RM 70th anni LE. These are still available new at circa £4K / $5k. It wasn’t a quick seller so deals can be done. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/omega-railmaster-60th-anniversary-limited-edition-introducing
eBay is awash with these horrible things and almost always priced well beyond what a nice correct watch can be found for.
@jerusdavid Here is a good article about the watch you are looking for and you can see what it should look like. You can also get a hint about the price https://shop.hodinkee.com/products/1950s-omega-seamaster-with-very-rare-dial?variant=16917565380 There are also a few other references with this type of dial and are often called semaster “ranchero”. Ref nr: CK 2996 and CK 2990 If you look for it here on forum, you’ll find a few good threads about them as well. Good luck with your hunt. /Kapka
