    Hello,

I am new to this forum so can anybody advice me if this is real Omega Seamaster. If it is genuine, is the dial reprinted or the original? Thanks for the help.

Smarter members might chime in but the caseback looks horrid, almost looks double stamped. Maybe the way you photographed it.

Yes, but it is what the omega database gives for that reference number.

It seems alright to me but I think it that the watch might have been polished. The case back indeed looks weird but hopefully it's just the angle.

The movement doesn't seem to have the 2 little fins and screws that hold it in place but that doesn't mean that it moves around on the inside and I'm sure they're easily sourceable.

It doesn't use them. The movement is held by the white plastic ring.

Op what is the number on the caseback? It reads as 166.0210 which is for the gold plated version. This does not mean the watch is fake. Maybe accidentally swapped.

Almost certainly real and original. Polished, but not too bad. Case maintains original bevels and brushed finishes on the sides.

I think this reference came in both gold plate, with a steel back and full steel. Both would have the same case reference number.

    Looks like a nice example,

I'm new to Omega vintage as my only Omega is the 231.10.39.21.03.001 blue dial (Skyfall). When I checked out the case ref #: 166.0210. It states a 1976 model:

    https://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/vintage-details/19623/

When I checked the serial number, it's from 1979? Where is the 3 years discrepancy coming from? I notice that the "Automatic" printing is located at 12 o'clock, below the Omega print and logo but for my watch, it's located at 6 o'clock below the "Seamaster" printing. That seems to be a very distinguishable difference. The watch seems to look more like case ref#: 366.0847

    https://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/vintage-details/14635/

Wondering maybe the caseback was switched out along the years. If so, how would I be able to find the true case ref# without going through Swatch Group. According to Omega website, the extract of archives service is still not available for US customers

Also, this watch seems to be a bit light which worrys me that it can be a fake. What are these vintage models suppose to weight totally assembled?

Thanks alot all for the help

Thanks, do you know why the "Automatic" printing is located at 6 o'clock below the "Seamaster" printing instead of 12 o'clock below the Omega logo/printing (as shown on the website)? Was the caseback switch out you think as my watch is 1979 vs 1976 for case ref#: 166.0210?

Omega made some popular models for several years and with many dial styles.
