Welcome to OF. If you can remove the back and show photos of the movement and the inside of the case-back, you will likely get more information.

most likely a cal. 28.9 inside - just a guess going by the size of the case and the dial design

PS: edited after closer inspection it is a cal. 33.3 chrono

If in fact a cal 28.9, it looks like case reference CK2078. But the pushers seem to be a bit further away from the crown for a 28.9. I'm thinking it may be a cal 33.3, likely reference CK2393.

I thought the dial design looked too early for a 2-pusher 33.3 chrono, more often seen on the earlier 28.9

I was going by the proportions as the strap seemed very wide compared to the diameter of the case...

But at a closer look I saw the faintly visible number for the strap size in the photo: 20 mm

Gave it a short math... and voila case diameter is 37,5 mm which makes it clearly a chrono with cal. 33.3

I stand corrected - you are the winner馃憤

Good eye for the strap size, I didn't see that.

Luis, pls., do not expect us to do the hard work in trawling the Net for you. 2 possible references have been mentioned so far. Use them to find the related Designs. And have a closer look at the smeared minute Rail section. Is that partly gone or an previous cleaning attempt? Kind regards. Achim

Luis, the Omega 33.3 chronographs are pretty collectible. The 2393 case reference, which yours appears to be, is fairly common and desirable but you may not be able to match up your dial with anything else you see online. Dial styles vary for this reference and have a big impact on the collectibility and monetary value of the watch. I didn't find your exact dial in any photos online. The dial appears to be damaged as Achim pointed out and the style itself is at the lower end of demand for this model. It may in fact be a reprinted dial looking at some of the details which would reduce the value and desirability to that of a parts watch. But being a family timepiece there is intangible value in that of course. Your grandfather has good taste in watches 馃榾
