Hi all 😀 newbie here, would like to ask which of the two models will hold more value / is more “desirable”. Thanks a lot 😀

I can't advise you on investment potential. Personally my preference would be to buy the one I like the most.

If you've figured out what you love and can't live without, those questions become irrelevant.

Hi @Omegaboi141 and welcome.

I have a very very similar watch to the first you posted. It is personal taste, but I love the shape of the beefy lugs case.

Mine (ref.2849) says hi!

I don't think that either watch is going to make you rich, so you're much better off choosing the one that makes you happier.

i agree with the above replies. when i started into vintage watches, it was a matter of personal preference which watch that appeals most to me, and not as an investment.

This doesn't really help with the value side of the question, but for me the more desirable would be the first/top SS piece - the YG 2nd is lovely, but also greatly resembles a number of pretty basic vintage Seikos I've had over the years (which are great watches, I just see them a lot) - so in a nutshell, the stainless SM Calendar is the more desirable to me.

Get what you love - good luck and let us know what you choose!
