Thanks for the info, really interesting history. I have never had a unique watch like this before, don't seem to be a lot of these on the market. Will take some more time to learn about it before selling it 😀

Just discovered this thread. The whole left hand / right hand crown version is interesting.

I wonder if Omega made 2 different cases or just 1. And if there is only 1 case then which configuration was original?

Having recently acquired a complete case from a retired watchmaker, I'd like more info on this watch reference.

Al are you certain the 166.093 came with 1012 movement rather than 1002? (Will begin hunting for parts soon to complete this watch).

Basing it on this from the Extranet...

055ST1660093 | STEEL CASE CAL. 1012

If I perform a reverse search for movements used with the case or dial, the only one that comes up is the 1012.

Anyone have any advice on how to sell my watch? It is up for sale at another watch forum in my country but the interest seems quite low, have got some trade offers but nothing of my interest. Some have advised me to put it up on Ebay but I have never really sold anything on there. Have not really done any sales outside of my country at all, seems tricky with shipping/payment. Is there any collectors/businesses that buy watches like this?

If you're using these questions as a veiled attempt to sell it here, you may want to read the rules. https://omegaforums.net/threads/ple...s-rules-for-all-listings-inc-parts-wtb.54177/

Not my intention at all, as i read my post again it does seem quite unclear. What I am trying to ask is:
1: As someone who has never sold anything outside of my country, what is the easiest way when it comes to shipping/payment for both sides?
2: The buyer for the watch is probably not the average person with no knowledge about it, it is probably an experienced collector/dealer, especially in the conditions that it is in. So where can i find these people, is it here on the forum? Ebay? And so one...
Sorry for my English and the confusion😀

Did u order an extract?

I think one challenge you will face in selling is providingg the buyer a level of confidence that the movement in the watch is the one that shipped from the factory.

No extract yet, several people let me know that it would not make a difference when selling. But maybe I should order one.
Have thought about letting a watchmaker take a look at the watch, but need too find someone that knows what they are doing first.

I'm almost certain that the early watches came with the 1002 and then Omega switched to the 1012 for the last couple of years of production.
Just another snippet of useless information, I read somewhere that Prince Rainier of Monaco bought up the first fifty watches produced to put in goodiebags for visiting heads of state.

These watches with the original movement are rare so an extract would be a real plus to sell it... BUT yours won't have the original movement, so no extract. It was flooded and had the movement changed with the wrong date wheel -> right crown... should be lefty like these:

I am researching this model and you are correct and I am not sure but the first 5000 had the 1002 and the remaining 1000 the 1012 any more info would be much appreciated
