I believe my grandparents purchased this watch in the 80s, but any idea what year it would be from approximately? The bracelet says 1393/012. Also would this have been a men’s watch or women’s watch, and what would be the approximate value today?

Thanks - this doesn’t look exactly the same though (doesn’t say chronometer on the dial, different bezel)?

You're right. The only similar i can find is this one. But it does'nt say the referencenumber. All the info is on the inside of the watch. Maybe another member knows.

And by the way, it wont have a lot of value (couple of hundred) unless those are diamonds I can see. I'm on my phone so it's all really small and my eyes are old.

True. Those Constellation "Manhattans" were a bit too avant-garde for many Omega enthusiasts and were kinda considered dressy. I think I would put the value a bit higher than a couple hundred whether with or without the diamonds. In reasonably good shape they usually sell for around $400+. Like most watches with diamond markers or bezels, those tiny diamonds ain't really worth all that much, and are mostly popular with the ladys or casino types 😁

Production is mid-80s to mid-90s. That one appears to be a quartz version which is usually valued a bit less than an automatic. Probably still in the $400ish range as mentioned.

I found a couple of similar quartz diamond versions in the archive. It's hard to find exact dial configuration matches online sometimes. If you take it somewhere to get a new battery get a picture of the movement and look for the caliber number that will help you narrow it down.

Hopefully this link works. You can just filter by Quartz Electronic Analog Constellations and poke around.

Here is the serial number and opened watch. Strangely the serial number is 4980876, which seems to imply the watch is from the early 1900s, which is obviously wrong. Did the quartz constellations have a different numbering scheme?

Also is it possible to replacement the bracelet with leather? The current one is too small and I can't seem to find any 1392/012 links anywhere on the internet.

Hi this is the reference number of the watch ..not the serial number. You can google "Omega 4980876" to find similar watches.
The serial number should have one more digit 😀 Regards.

The bracelet is a problem indeed .. I was lucky to find out that the bracelet that came with my watch fits exactly my wrist .. not sure if additional links are to be found .. and as to replace the bracelet in favor of a strap .. I doubt it would be possible .. but ...

In this case the serial is stamped on the inner caseback and the model number on the clasp. Yes the numbering scheme fir quartz models isn’t always in step with the auto equivalents but I think there is either a digit missing or maybe just very faintly stamped.

I think it's one of Omega's unusual approaches to consistency.
As a reference number, 498 equates to:

4 - Gents Jewellery Bracelet Watch
9 - Electronic
8 - Water-resistant Chronometer Calendar

0876 - sequential case style reference.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find extra links for the bracelet? Searching Ebay for 1392/012 doesn't seem to give any results... thanks in advance.
