·Hello all! First time here, hoping someone can help identify a watch that belonged to my grandfather.
There is no brand shown anywhere — only the words Quartz and W. GERMAN MOVT.
I had it looked at by a local watch repair shop, but they were unable to find any identifying marks inside, either.
Some notes:
It was most likely purchased in New York City (where my grandfather lived at the time). This was given to me by my dad nearly 20 years ago, and only recently resurfaced. As my dad and his dad have both passed, this is all I have to go on.
The combination of a moon phase complication and a compass ring in a quartz watch from this era (1980s or earlier) seems to be unusual based on what I've been able to find on my own.
Any insights, suggestions, or possible identifications would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your help figuring out the history/provenance!

Some notes:
- Movement: German Quartz
- Case: Round, gold-colored, 32mm diameter
- Dial: White with black Roman numerals
- Hands: Thin, black hour and minute hands, gold-colored seconds hand
- Complications: Moon phase (below 12 o'clock), Date window (at 6 o'clock)
- Additional Features: Compass ring and Tachymetre around the outside edge of the dial
- Crystal: Flat
- Strap: Leather with hidden or covered spring bars (can't see any sign of them). This isn't the original leather strap, as that was falling apart.
- Case Back: No markings
