Help identifying this Seamaster

I recently found this Seamaster clearing out my parents house unfortunately not running (balance spring for some reason has been cut off it seems). Probably going to sell the piece to someone who will value it more/wear it if I can't associate any meaning with it. I need some help identifying this piece as I'm left a bit lost, (is it even authentic?). I see some where the S/N on the backplate is on one line or many gold-plated ones where the backplate is also plated unlike this one. This one also has the flex bracelet, not shown.

The model number is on the back of the caseback. It is a Ref. 14701. You have most of the answers in your photos. Great job on the photos. The serial number is on the movement and would give you the year. Guessing around 1960. The following link is the Omega description of the watch. If you intend to wear it, it will need to be serviced. Let us know where your are at and a member may be able to recommend a watch maker. If you have specific questions, ask away.

And if you do indeed decide to sell it, don't do anything with it but give it a gentle clean. Remove the gunk where you can, then take clear pictures in indirect, natural light from various angles. Makes it easy for people to judge whether scratches are on the plexi or the dial - huge difference for the value. Give an honest description (you now have the serial and the reference number, all you need) and put it on eBay. It'll find its price, they always do.
