Hello all! After extensive searches on here, google reverse image searches, going through multiple cosmic 2000 pictures, ads and queries here, I am at a loss to see a similar watch to one I’m looking to purchase on eBay. Reputable seller but I can’t tell if it’s what they call a “frankenwatch” or did this combination of case and dial actually exist from omega.
It’s a 38x42, and a 1022 movement. Please see attached pictures.
Thank you, all!

Looks like a 166.0131, though I don't recall seeing that exact dial.

Hi, does the seller provide a reference number?
Did not, I’m sorry. I agree with the @sathomasga the case is very similar to the 166.0131 which would be correct for the movement too but I can’t find any examples of this dial when I search that reference number

There are folks here much more experienced than me, but I don't see anything wrong with the dial; it's just a variation that I haven't seen before.

The fonts look correct to me; I don't seen any signs of paint on the indices; the faded tritium dots seem genuine, etc. If it has been refinished, I'd happily wear it.

I've seen similar versions of the Comic 2000 in a c-shaped case...it's less common. The dial looks good too. The indices are blocks, so raised, which is why it has tyrannosaurus hands. The case looks V nice and also it looks like it may come on a 1171 bracelet, but would need to see the clasp to be sure.

Is the hand length correct? They really look short...

I think so.
Here's one I used to have with similar block dial. The hands are short.

There is another dial variant without big block indices. The hands are longer...

Thank you so much for the insight. I went ahead and purchased it, will post an update when I receive it. I checked the pictures and it is indeed the 1171 with what appears to be 677 (not super clear in the pictures) end links. Thank you again.

Received the watch - first impressions, fits great on the wrist with its lug to lug being smaller than my aqua terra 38.5, and less thick too.
The bracelet is a lot flimsier than other bracelets I have, including a vintage 1098 for the seamaster which feels a lot more substantial. Is that accurate for rhe 1171? I have not had the pleasure of wearing one on a speedmaster, but I initially had doubts whether it really was a vintage omega OEM bracelet.
Lastly, any idea on resizing this bracelet, there is only one link I could remove the rest I had to use the micro adjust to get as close to the size I need it to be.

Thanks all, for the great insights.

Very nice @hswazir. A good example, the case finishing in particular looks superb. The 1171 feels quite lightweight and jangly, particularly compared to modern bracelets. From what can be seen in the photos, it looks original. It has a nice trapezoidal logo on the clasp. Enjoy!
