I have been offered the watch and I was trying to estimate its value.

I have been googling Omega De Ville but had no luck but with the reference you gave me I have found some results.

Poor example with gold plating worn off. Not worth much at all. Plus if the bracelets the wrong size links are unobtainable.

why this piece?

According to owner, this is a silver and gold watch and not a gold plated as you say (I can’t confirm that since I didn’t see it personally).
