Hi all,

My wife received 4 watches when her mum passed away. Baring the obvious makes, we have no idea what models they are or the vintage... can the combined wisdom of OF help? 😀

First - a 'Polek' - never heard of them, but it is a mechanical movement, and still works. The word polek, a bird motif and 18k R.P is on the case back

Secondly a Bucherer - again, never heard of them. This is a quartz, case reads stainless steel back 505.10

Thirdly, Fauvre Leuba. Mechanical, 1005-42 031 on the case back.

Finally, the most impressive of the bunch, a Gold (led to believe it's 22kt) Baume et Mercer, case reads 1027372 38232 (could be 3B232). The diamonds where added by the jeweller who sold it to my mum in law, not BM

Thanks in advance,

Jason.

Polek - by the text, probably a 60s/70s era. Lots of tiny Swiss companies poured out mass watches for the low-mid range market during this time.

Bucherer-a sister company of Rolex for a time before branching out and becoming independent. Quartz and style suggest 80s.

Favre Leuba - a more commonly known brand, made some excellent divers and chrono styles. 50s/60s.

Baume et Mercier - classiest of the lot, they have been around for quite a long time. Guessing 50s/60s.

Your wife has inherited some lovely watches and should check which she will wear more often to get serviced 😀
