Hi, I'd need some help in identifying this movement. Its marked R and both the baseplate and the bridge have the number 193 on them. I'm attaching two photographs of it... No further info at this time. Thank you in advance!
I managed to find that out but the caliber # is eluding me I've tried 193 or something but to no avail... Best I've came up is that it's one of the Valjoux 19 ligne movements but from there it's a whole new rabbit hole.
If the 193 is stamped on the plate and the bridge it's probably a serial number, not the caliber. But then again, like all things with Swiss watches, it could be the caliber but I can't find anything like it. What is it, a timer movement?
It's a bomb timer "project" I've acquired recently. It's a Lip watch, as per Knirims book its all correct but I didn't find a movement reference. Same case and setup can be found od the period Zenith but the photographs of that movement don't match this one. 193 would make it a very early or a really low production instrument if it was a serial, and it quite possibly cold be as the location of the number on the baseplate matches the usual spot for a SN.
Nope it does not have the sub second dial, and the missing center wheel with its heart and screw are not pictured.
Can you post a picture with the missing center wheel, heart and screew? And by the way the RF stand for Reymond Frère SA ( futur valjoux)
