My 18 year old son inherited my late Uncles Omega watch and I’m trying to find out some more information and hopefully an approximate value to know if it’s worth insuring. I’ve really struggled to find anything similar to it online.
I was going to take it to a local jewellers for a valuation but they said there fee will be 10% so I’m reluctant to do this without knowing roughly what it’s worth else surely it’s in their interest to over value!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a UK market 9ct gold cased Omega Men's Bracelet watch "De Ville" from the late 1980s, possibly with a quartz caliber 1300 series.

To find out more the case needs to be opened and the caliber, movement serial number and case reference number will be revealed and explain all.

Better pics of the hallmarks on the case and bracelet clasp will help too.

    Thanks @JimInOz
I assume I need to take it to a jewellers to get the case removed? Should I then photograph what it reveals and add to this post?
Sorry, total newbie so haven’t got the foggiest on what to do or if this is even a ‘decent’ Omega...

Just get a competent watchmaker (not the guy in the mall doing keys and shoes) to open the caseback.
Take good clear well lit pics.
    Post them here.

It's not a popular "collector" watch, but it is a nice example and depending on the information/hallmarks, will be worth insuring and even wearing.

    Ok thank you.
I’ll hopefully be able to get that done over the weekend so will upload any extra info and photos I get.
Sadly, it’s not to my sons taste so I can’t see it being worn. Maybe he will in years to come if I can stop him from selling it further down the line to help pay towards his Uni fees!
