Help Identifying Grandfathers Watch.

I was hoping someone on this site was able to help me identify the watch my grandfather had. I don't know much about this particular one other than that maybe the band is not original. Its back is engraved with his name and a year i'm assuming it was given to him. Any information on it would be great cause I'd love to see if it is worth servicing. Thanks for any help.

Looks like it could be a gold plated reference 166.041.
Monetary value isn't huge, around £/$300, it's the sentimental value that will determine whether it's worthwhile getting it serviced.
