Help identifying authenticity of tang buckle?

Hey there just wondering if anyone in this forum can chime in and see if this tang buckle is legit. Seller on eBay says it was obtained by omega liquidator. It’s for my omega seamaster from the 1960s as I want to pair it up with. I’ve searched this and have gone though some of the threads which contained lots of good info and for some reason cannot find the clasp that looks the same it looks like it’s made by MG but the sun looks incorrect ? Less detailed than suppose to be for a gold plated buckle ? I know there are tons of fakes/replicas out there Again would appreciate any input. Thank you guys

At this point unless they come for free on an original watch I work on the assumption that they're all fake, especially the gold plated ones. The market has been saturated with counterfeit Omega clasps for over a decade and the odds of some dude having a bunch of legit loose ones in a variety of colours and sizes is extremely slim

I had the same idea.. thanks for your inputs, maybe I will just stick to my non signed clasps for now but I’m always pondering and the itch is there..

What I tend to do on watches I want an Omega signed clasp on is go for part number 94511601, you can get them through an Omega boutique locally to ensure you get an authentic one or there are larger sellers online that have them too. Its modern but it still looks good and the quality is far better than the junk ones.

Its modern but it still looks good and the quality is far better than the junk ones.

That’s not a bad idea to ensure you get the real deal . I do like the overhang logo look of the vintage buckles though but hey what can you do, if there are so many fakes.

Yea the quality and durability is the other benefit, a lot of the generics and fakes are made of poor quality metal despite the stamping and the tang piece itself is often just curled into a loop without being joined back to itself in the loop, the tang can often fail or bend enough to slip through the buckle and the watch will fall.

These legit modern Omega buckles aren’t too pricey but are solid stainless steel and strong as hell, so your vintage watch isn’t at risk of falling and getting damaged
