Apologies for lack of photos but this was a watch worn by a chap opposite me on my morning commuter train. As I live in England I could not ask him about it due to commuting rule #1. Thou shalt never engage thy fellow commuter in conversation nor eye contact make.
It had a black face with gold arrow head hands, a gold applied logo and gold coloured push buttons. Strap was brown leather and the bezel appeared to have a gold coloured edge and gold coloured numerals.
The rest of the case was stainless steel.
I have google-imaged Speedmaster to try and spot one but not seen one yet.
    Thanks in advance.

If he's a watch guy, and the watch is worth having, he won't mind if you break rule #1. You can always go back to silence once you confirm that you both share the passion.

It's unlikely you'll get much without pics unfortunately.

And don't forget rule #0.5 of commuting... Don't go off and buy the same watch as the guy on the commute who's watch you have been stalking.

If you can’t find it with google it was probably not a Speedmaster. Just drop it and move on. The world is full of nice watches.

It sounds a rather like the black dial Broad Arrow 1957 model. Other than the brown strap (see below) which would be easy to add this ticks most of the boxes. Be aware it uses the 3313 auto movement. I have the silver/white dial version without the gold accents.

Here it is from Omega’s website on leather:

That’s exactly the one. Thanks very much. It looks good on the brown leather strap.
And the sanctity of the commuter carriage is maintained. An Englishman would rather stab himself in the eye than mutter more than “excuse me” and “thank you” to a fellow commuter. At the very least one of us would have to henceforth sit in a different carriage.

Absolutely nothing* quite the opposite and I am sorry if it came across that way but I know that some Speedy followers get target fixated with the 321/861/1861 models so wanted to point out why this may not have crossed the radar of many. As I say I own a 3313 Speedmaster and love it, you may recall we have discussed before how the 3313 looks and feels like something from the league above in terms of finish, accuracy and pusher feel. I believe you have a 3313 PO chrono?

In my defence all I said was be aware it is a 3313, I didn’t pass comment either way so I would suggest you inferred any negativity you saw ;)

*as you know there were teething troubles with the 33X3 movements which got ironed out eventually

I thought so just checking :). I do own one and it’s a wonderful movement. Which did have some early issues.

Gotta love the limitations of the internet to convey nuance in meaning.
