Help identify a Speedmaster

Dear All,
I wonder if you can help me identify a Speedmaster. It is a 20th Anniversary Model which I bought new in 1989 in Hamburg in Germany at a discount from a famous Clock and Watch retailer. It came without papers and box but with the leather strap and Omega buckle and as I recall I paid an unbelievable 875 Deutschmarks then. What puzzles me however and almost 35 years later is that the back has the typical 20th anniversary inscriptions but no inscription / engraving on the side opposite the crown. Where there ever 20th anniversary Models made without the lateral Apollo inscription?
Thanks and all the best from Hamburg
Alex T.

Hi Dan S,
I am not a hundred percent certain but i could bet the guy in the shop told me a was a 20th anniversary model an that one can tell from the inscription on the back. This made sense to me since it was 1989.
Cheers Alex T.

Looks like a standard mid eighties model to me. Does the serial number start 45?

Nice watch 👍 but not a 20th anniversary model.
It's "just" a regular Speedy from that era.

You should keep enjoying it as it deserves !

The number on the inside of the caseback-145022-is what we refer to as the reference number. That's the model that you have.

@Badwolf The serialnumber on the escape wheel bridge of the movement (if that is what you where asking for) is 482411. The 8 was barely legible so I checked with the microscope and an 8 it is indeed.

"You should keep enjoying it as it deserves !" Will do, @Seaborg

@TheGreekPhysique Check 👍

Thanks all of you and all the best from Hamburg

There certainly was an Apollo 11 20th anniversary model in 1989, mainly identified by the box, booklet and extras that came with it, and the engraving on the side of the case.

As others have said, yours is a very nice 80’s Speedmaster from the same period but there is nothing to suggest it is one of the 20th anniversary models.
