Hi,
I have this old Seamaster, It was my Grandfathers and it’s been sitting since he passed over 30 years ago.

Can you tell the model and approximate year it’s from with the posted pics? I believe you can remove the rear cover and check but I don’t have access to it right now. I thank you so much for any info you can give me..

Probably a LL6287, ca early 1960s.

Very uncommon dial.

And I don't think you can remove the back from that watch, so don't try.

I haven’t tried.. I was really attempting to ID it to see if parts are available and if it was even worth repairing.

Hello! There is a stamp between the bottom lugs. Can you tell us if it says "14K GOLD" or "14K GOLD FILLED"?

I can already tell you it has a rare special dial called a radial dial:

It is a Seamaster de Ville. From 1960 to 1962, the dial only says "Seamaster" but it was already called "Seamaster de Ville" in catalogues.

Thank you so much. I’ll have to see what it says..
So it seems I should probably get it restored..

I zoomed one of your photos and I think I can read "14K GOLD FILLED" which corresponds to ref. LL 6287.

It's the third time ever that I see a radial dial on a Seamaster de Ville so... that's quite uncommon. 😁
Yes, you should absolutely have it serviced. It also needs an original crown and a new crystal. Don't send it to Omega as they tend to butcher vintage watches and ask a fortune for it. Go to a reputable watchmaker who has access to Omega parts. I'd say between the regular service plus cost of the parts, it should cost roughly around $300-$400.

And then, wear it with pride. 😉

You can fit any 18mm strap you like. I think green and dark blue go along very well with gold. 😀
