Hoi had a good thread on the differences between the high quality fakes and the real deal but I don't know what forum it was on. I also can't see one of my favorite tells - if the last "n" in Constellation rolls under or not because the hand is blocking it. Is that a tactical placement or just a coincidence that the seller took the photo when the hand happened to be there?

What makes my spider sense tingle is the lugs are dog leg. What's the serial number supposed to be? If it's 1962 or before that's at least a franken.

Again, let's wait for Desmond to comment before passing judgement.

Desmond needs a bat signal or something. Maybe shine an observatory into the sky and see of that works.

At first glance, the watch looks alright to me. This is one of the case references that is heavily faked. I have some concerns that it should have a gold medallion on the caseback. However, I was able to find an example of Ref. 14900 with a steel medallion here:

    http://www.watchcat.com/NewListings/omg5599pie.htm

I have no clue whether everything is all legit on the above example, but again, they both look good to me.

I'm very reluctant to recommend watches of this particular Constellation series (Ref. 149XX) because of all the problems with authenticlty. This is one of those times that I think you have to examine the watch in person, not with internet photos.

    Hope this helps,

@gatorcpa: thanx for your advice

@dsio : this is additional information, serial number is 20.300.xxx
is it possible that this Connie was produced in 1962 or 1963?

my friend guaranteed that the watch was original ...:) so I think I'll take the deal..
    Thank you all....!!!
