    Hello all,

I have been looking to try a Polerouter for quite some time and found a private seller with what seems to be a nice example. I would love to hear your opinions on the "correctness" of the watch.

Particularly, are the hands correct or have they been replaced? The shape looks correct and they reach the number ring properly, but they look a little thin. Movement and dial look good to me.

Thanks in advance! Sorry for the lo-res photos, they're the best I could get!

Hey there! To my eyes, along with @Severin's dial analysis, the seconds hand at the very least has been replaced, as they should only reach the edge of the chapter ring and not beyond. The hours and minute hands appear considerably slimmer than normal.

From @Severin's font analysis, your dial appears OK, though the way the crosshair goes through 'Polerouter' through 'R' is something seen on Cal 215 Polerouters and typically goes through 'U' on the 218s. As the 215s also do have some dials where the crosshair goes through 'U,' it may just be a dial quirk.

This one does have the original crown, which is pretty much extinct as a part on the open market. Whether you will take that while searching for correct hands...time to play devil's advocate ::stirthepot::

Thanks very much for the detailed analysis! I think the dial is OK as well...the crosshairs are very similar to a watch cristos recently sold which was in excellent condition and crosshairs went through the 'R' as well.

I'm very tempted with this one...particularly if I can get a reasonable price. How difficult would it be to find the correct handset for this?

The handset is all wrong (what sense does it make unlumed hands on a dial with lume?).

    The case looks heavily polished.

The movement has seen better days.

    Dial looks good.

The crown is, imo, the most desireable part of this watch.

Correct hands? Tricky, considering that not many Polerouter dials/hands are sold on a regular basis...or are attached to watches.

They actually have a very slim strip of lume on them... I didn't see it at first either. I agree with all the others re. authenticity.

Stand corrected on the lume. Wrong hands nonetheless

Thanks for all the comments! Even with the nice dial and original crown, I just don't think I have the patience and time to look for correct hands.
