I don't think anyone is suggesting that the "whole sub second hand section is not original." The hand is replaced. That part of the dial has become stained/damaged, presumably because the replacement short hand is rubbing on the dial.
While it looks original there is a lot of case damage on lugs and lots of spotting patina on dial, in addition to subdial issues. So overall condition appears fair at best
But the reference is in demand so you may do ok with auction. How much did you spend on service?
I only spent 380 for total service. Got it running nicely, he did a great job on the clean-up too. Place called I & M Watch repair on jewlers row in Chicago.
