I would like to start off by apologising for posting another one of these threads. I picked up this watch about four years ago from a vintage watch and jewellery dealer in old Bond Street. I did not know much about omega constellations and just loved the look. After finding this forum a few months ago I’ve been reading about redials more and more. I’ve tried my best to discern wether my dial is original or not, and the only strange thing i have encountered is the lack of the curvature on the two ‘n’s in the constellation script which somewhat appear similar to the later 1970s constellation fonts, other than that I’ve struggled to find any obvious indicators of a redial, but I’m sure you guys will haha. A big thank you to any help you are able to provide and a big sorry for another one of these posts but I thought it would be best to ask here before I find a reputable vintage omega specialist and take it there.

I'm trying to learn the re dial game, too. And just for fun, I'll dive in and say that I believe this dial to be original, not re finished. Of course, my opinion is worth about as much as a self aggrandizing, plated one dollar coin.

If you own the watch and have access to it, why would you post these strange screenshots without cropping them? Seems also a bit fishy, because if you had those pictures on your phone, why not upload those?
The pictures are blurred and compressed and give no good basis for any kind of evaluation.

You are quite correct in your assessment.
You don’t need to look any further than the straight Ns in Constellation.

Definitely a redial.

Black dial’s are the most problematic of Constellation dials as the majority have been redialled or created to deceive the unwary.

Yes i do own the watch but im away from home (on holiday) and screenshot my images i sent as messages with chatgpt, yes free to judge me there haha.

Aha, that was quick, thank you. May I kindly ask what the red herrings were? Yes sadly, I did notice that black dials are very problematic unfortunately only 2 years late haha. Thank you for the reply.

We would need more info to delve into the watch more deeply.
In focus pics of the dial, movt (serial no., cal reference) inner case back.

The case looks like an earlier reference like 14381 from late 50s or early 60s which was much earlier before this dial style.
And the font is wonky.
Inside pics will reveal details.

The star under Constellation looks misaligned with the cross hairs. That raises a warning flag right away for me.
