I'm posting this 145.022 for a friend. He asked me about this Speedie, but candidly this is not my speciality and I hate to give any incorrect advise. Any feedback would be welcome, as I'll make sure he sees the thread.

It's a 1969 red.145.022 with 861. Serial number is in correct 3000 range for the year and for the bezzel. Partially blocked at his request.

He believes case back is correct for the piece, and I have posted pics of that and the movement as well.

He noted it's a 220 Beze. Rare? He also mentioned that in the 65 to 60 (in the bezel) there is some litle marks/wear.

Price is around $6K. Fair? High?

Seems very high imo, mainly due to the condition of the dial and missing lume. Assuming no bracelet either which is not good for the price imo. Case looks to be polished but a little hard to tell based on the pics provided.

Interesting that the first four digits of the serial are blocked off - when those are what we need to know whether it's in the correct range. From what we see though all looks correct, though 6k may be a bit of a reach. Might as well post it and see what the market bears though

He has a 1171 bracelet. What do you feel a "fair" price for a piece like this, in this condition would be? Thanks again for the help!

With the bracelet more or less around 5000 usd. My opinion.

Sorry, my bad with my phone. First four and 3059. He didn't want the whole S/N pictured so someone could use pic as a scam later.

I believe 3059xxxx is a correct movement for the 220 bezel.
Interesting how the bezel is in such nice condition but the dial is not

Can't tell the condition of the case from the photos (need to look at both of the sides of the case) but assuming they're in good condition, plus 1171, somewhere around $4500. Probably closer to $4250 given the dial condition

speedmaster101.com has some suggestions on valuation... 220 bezel's are an interesting anomaly, but many of us don't quite understand why these would command a premium, but I think there are probably some buyers out there who feel differently. For me, I'm much more interested in DoN bezel's, 1039 bracelets, and elements you find on earlier 1969 Speedy's.

For this particular '69, I think the bigger issue for valuation is the "attractiveness" quotient. The dial plots are rough, so much so, I think this dial may benefit from a sympathetic relume from an expert. What is there now is dark/blotchy or completely gone showing the white paint of the dial plot. This is a big turn off for me and thus, decreases value substantially. If he intends to sell with the bracelet, then definitely put the bracelet on the watch and present it that way. Good luck to your friend.

Great observations and opinions. Thanks. He's the potential buyer of this piece. I am posting so he can read what more experience and knowledgeable people see.

Way over priced for what it is.

Personally, I would pass on this one. 220 bezel doesn't add any value at the moment, this could change but it is not a reason to puchase this particular watch. Plots are not the most attractive thus the main reason why I would keep looking. There are plenty of 69's around to justify a continued hunt.

My 220 has a gorgeous dial / hands but a chewed up bezel and case. It'd be awesome to combine them into a badass 220 and a beater for the ages... Would happily take a shot at this if your friend passes
