Hey I’m Jim joined the forum not long ago and it took quite a while to allow me to post privileges. I’ve been a watch guy since I inhereted a couple of my grandfathers watches. Nothing special an old beat up Hamilton and a pocket watch. So my collection is about twenty watches but only a couple worth money. As a matter of fact I have a vostok on the way from Russia right now. It will be my second Russian watch. I like to have a couple and the vostok are unique.

As far as omega I’m looking for a prebond seamaster and always on the lookout for a vintage at a decent price. I need to pace myself though. I made a few stock trades today and almost sold 10–20 shares of proctor gamble just to purchase an omega. That would not be fair to my wife although I bought it long before we were married. In married life you can either be happy or be right, you can’t be both.

Any way as I’m writing this my deal for the vintage omega dynamic just went through so I soon should have my first omega.

I saw a pre-Bond on Closer's Rakutan site the other day.

You couldn't post comments right away?

Welcome to the forum and I'll give the standard advice (advise).

Avoid the "noob tax" by doing some surfing, some research and some shopping.
Vet your prospects here before you buy!

If an open auction and you don't want the publicity, private message a moderator or someone you feel is knowledgeable. Eric, @efauser, has already reached out.

Lastly, if you stay, your wife will learn to read your posts, so never speak disparagingly or of stock trades to fund watches!

But hopefully you won't sleep with it on its own widdle pillow right next to you in bed every night like some Speedmaster owners. Or wear it around your forehead like Bjorn Borg or John Mcenroe at Wimbeldon in 1980. 😵‍💫

Probably has its own blanket, too.

...Or wear it as a belt/belt buckle like the nut job pictured below on the left. 😵‍💫
