Went through a serious phase of consolidation recently, reducing the number of watches I have from around 8 to 3 (just the mechanicals, I'm cheating :p), as I needed to save up some funds for my first home with my fiancee. Realized afterwards that I may have enough funds leftover for another watch, and kept looking around passively, until I came across a pre-owned Speedy Pro 3572.50, in excellent condition with box and papers. Was considering between a Tintin, the classic 3570.50 and this, but in the end the display back won me over (that and the Tintin ultimately looks too loud for me).

Can't believe I waited this long for a Speedy!

There were some scratches on the hesalite, which I have since polished away with polywatch. Unfortunately the service history of this watch is unknown (purchased since 2003), so I'm contemplating whether to send it in for servicing or not. It seems to be running well so far (power reserve and chrono), any advice on this?

    Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! That's a great looking speedy. Warning: they're addictive!

If it were me, I'd get it serviced. Better safe than sorry with a nice piece. More than 10 years is too long, and not worth the risk.

Congrats you have made a right choice. I love my Speedy so much that after I get home everyday, I take off my everyday watch (my belovedPO) and wear my Speedy to walk around the house haha. I usually wear my Speedy on the weekend due to it does not have date . The problem is if you buy one you will want to buy more!!!

oddboy: Thanks for the advice. I just brought it to a local watchmaker and he said it doesn't require servicing currently. I think the previous owner barely wound/worn it at all. Will get a second opinion at another watchmaker later.

Lovely watch, have been considering getting the 3572.50 for some time. Did you pick it up online or in a store?

In the end I sent it in for servicing as it was running +25 seconds per day! Haha :p. Will get it back in ~ 2 weeks.

Welcome to the 3572.50 club. A reference that I feel doesn't get enough attention.
