Hello everyone,

I just registered recently to the Omega Forum and thought I would quickly introduce myself here.
I am French, but I've spent the past 5 years in several Asian countries, and in Japan in particular, where I am currently living. I am quite new to this hobby, and I don't own any fancy collection, but I think this is turning quite quickly into a true obsession.

It all started when my parents bought a used Omega "James Bond" Seamaster from 95 at an auction. Not in great condition, but it was so cheap it would have been a crime not to buy it.
I also knew that my grandfather has been wearing many omegas his whole life (and no, unfortunately I haven't inherited any). So I started reading about watches and getting more and more into it.

So I recently bought my first real timepiece, a Speedmaster Racing 3570.40, Japan Limited, from 2004. I am a huge fan of this watch. I love it for its design, the popping colours that sets it clearly appart from all the other speemasters, and for the history behind that watch. Of course I love the original 145.022 Racing even better, but clearly I can't afford that one. 😉

I feel lucky to be living in Japan, because it is a great place for watch lovers. There's so much choice and you can easily come accross rare pieces. Just last week, I saw 2 Daytonas Paul Newman and a Submariner 6538.

Coming back to Omega, I am now hunting for a nice, original, Cosmic Moonphase from the 40s-50s, and that's a bit more of a challenge to find a good one! (I recently saw one, but like many others, I have strong doubts about the dial).
Anyway, thank you in advance for welcoming me here! I am looking forward to exchanging with you all about our passion!

Florent

I lived in Japan for almost a year and agree it is fantastic for a watch lover. You can find amazing Seiko watches of course, but also plenty of Swiss and German. Regarding the Moonphase, ganbatte kudasai!

The triple date moon phase cosmics are hard to find in good condition. We have a few on the forum that yo can use as comparators. Search for TDMP and you should find some. Here is mine
