Man, I really need to get the motor back in my '87 and get it at least back on the street. I don't bother blipping the Volvo much because it just doesn't make any sounds that are worth it. But I really miss driving the 911 in ways that local traffic law enforcers do not appreciate.

I got pulled over in mine once - driving at the 30mph speed limit - even around corners. Was 12pm at night - no alcohol - the police officer asked me ‘Sir is this your car?’ ‘Yes’ ‘May I ask why you are driving it like you have stolen it?’ 😉

911 is an amazing car, which model do you have?

It’s a ‘80 SC

And yes, the Carrera script is technically not correct lol.

Mine is an '87 Targa. Yeah, I know. But I was looking for an old Mercedes SL at the time, so I was in 'convertible' mode. It's nice around town but a disadvantage on the track.

My setup is similar to vbrad26's, except my car is actually raised up on the scissor lift, the rear wheels are off, and the engine and transmission are sitting on the floor. 😁 Clutch parts have been swapped out and transmission remounted to the motor, but I found someone who will resurface the G50 flywheel so my plan is to take it back apart and get that done. Well, that's been my plan the last 3 years. My son makes working on the car pretty tough -- I've had two 'work on car' days the last 2 years and that is it. He comes out and totally disrupts everything.

The G-body Targas have really been growing on me.
I would love a 964 coupe and a G-body Targa in the garage.
Is that too much to ask for?

I was on the verge of buying a Fiat Spyder many years ago but when I got in the drivers seat for a test drive I found the pedals were so small and close together I could not even get my toe on one without stepping on the one next to it.
It was like the car was made for a child. Perhaps that's why Italians like pointy toed shoes.

This 911 isn't mine but was at Targa Newfoundland last year. It was a project that was just completed in time to roll onto the trailer.
