1 Actually Vega is in Wikipedia and you have spoiled my bet with myself that someone would correct me and I would then win a holiday beer - damn you🙁😉

2 In a very localised pantomime way “OH YES THERE IS” (and you should remember, you contributor, you!)

Happy New Year, mate!
Ok. I owe you a beer. Next time you are in London. My treat. (The real London, in Canada).

You didn't miss much. He wasn't a jovial prankster or an ill-educated but still educated conspiracy theorist. He was a turd in a fish bowl.

Nearly 60 years ago I was on holiday with some high school (?) guys from London, Ontario. One beer was never going to be close to enough 😵‍💫

Wait, what’s this about the speedmaster and the moon

In actuality we had a flat earther on a boxing forum I was on the guy would go to no end to prove his “point” despite any historical or modern proof presented.

He was right. I have seen photos of the moon and if I look out the window now i can see the real thing - both look flat to me!
So logically from the moon the earth is flat. Ipso facto, good night.

I don’t believe in Vegans, there is no such place a Vega in Wikipedia.

There is Las Vega, where Vincent lives

My favorite oxymoron is that the catholic church only in the 1960's acknowledged earth as an 3 dimensional spherical structure. Roughly a few thousand years aftergreek scientists proved it.
Yet, they send ships and planes around the world to spread the faith.
So the earth can be flat and spherical at the same time. Isnt that the essence of quantum physics?

Well, to sum it up…

That carlos13 member created a thread stating there are countless threads full of sheep celebrating a moon landing that never happened. All of us wearing a moonwatches that pass down a tale of pure fiction. He was upset that there wasn’t a single thread on this forum that contradicted it… so he declared himself as brave for doing just that and telling the “truth.” He repeatedly demanded “proof” that the moon landing ever happened while himself failing to provide proof it never did. He also said this forum must be made up of Americans for believing such none sense. It was just a downward spiral of poop circling the toilet bowl before it was inevitably flushed for good.

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”
-Sagan

in my experience, it's even worse when most of the bamboozling was done by you to yourself. It's wildly hard to break self-told narratives, and the people most prone to believing this sort of misinformation tend to have many illogical beliefs once you get past stuff like flat earth. I guess it's pretty easy to continue believing absolute nonsense if it's nonsense in numbers.
